1. Why this exists
Call to Rule is a team game. Nine other people are in every match with you, and their experience depends on you as much as yours depends on them. This Code sets the line. It forms part of the Terms of Service, and breaking it can cost you your account.
The rule underneath all the rules: play to win, and do not make the game worse for anyone else.
2. Play the game honestly
You must not:
- Use cheats, hacks, bots, macros, scripts, modified clients, memory editors or automation of any kind, or run software that reads or alters the game while it runs.
- Exploit bugs for advantage. Finding one is fine and we would like to hear about it at support@calltorule.com; repeatedly using one is not.
- Deliberately lose, feed, AFK, or sabotage a match, including refusing to participate, intentionally dying, or denying resources to your team.
- Boost or be boosted — playing on someone else's account, paying someone to raise your rank, or selling that service.
- Win-trade or collude with the other team to fix a result.
- Queue-dodge repeatedly or abuse the surrender, report or matchmaking systems.
- Smurf abusively — running alternate accounts to play against far weaker opponents.
Leaving matches happens; connections drop and life interrupts. Doing it repeatedly is a pattern, and we treat it as one.
3. Treat people decently
You must not, in chat, voice, display names, guild names, status messages or any other channel:
- Harass, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, or encourage others to.
- Use hate speech — attacking or demeaning anyone on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar characteristic. There is no "banter" exception.
- Post sexual content, sexualise any user, or sexualise a minor in any way whatsoever. Content that sexualises minors results in an immediate permanent ban and, where the law requires it, a report to the authorities.
- Encourage self-harm or suicide, or tell anyone to kill themselves.
- Publish private information about anyone — real name, address, workplace, phone number, images — without their consent.
- Impersonate another player, a PaperToad employee, a moderator, or a public figure.
- Post content that is unlawful under UAE law, including content that insults religions, incites hatred or violence, or breaches Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021 on Combatting Rumours and Cybercrimes.
- Spam, advertise, phish, or link to malware, account sellers, cheat providers or third-party marketplaces.
Losing a match is not a licence to abuse your team. Being flamed first is not a defence.
4. Keep the account yours
You must not sell, buy, rent, share or transfer accounts, or use another person's account. See section 3 of the Terms of Service.
5. Reporting
Report a player from the in-match scoreboard or from the post-match screen, and pick the reason that actually fits. For anything serious — threats, doxxing, content involving a minor — email support@calltorule.com directly with the match ID, the player's name, and the time, and mark it urgent.
Reports are reviewed. False reporting is itself a violation — reporting someone because you lost, or organising a group to mass-report a player, is punishable.
We do not tell you what happened to the person you reported. That is their personal data and we are not allowed to share it. We do tell you that the report was received and reviewed.
6. What happens when you break the rules
Enforcement is proportionate to what you did, how bad it was, and whether you have done it before.
| Level | Typical outcome |
|---|---|
| Minor, first time | Warning, or a short chat restriction |
| Repeated disruption, AFK or abandonment | Matchmaking restriction, queue delay, ranked lockout, honour penalty |
| Abuse, harassment, hate speech | Chat ban, then temporary account suspension, then permanent ban |
| Cheating, botting, boosting, win-trading | Permanent ban on the first offence, and removal of ill-gotten rank, rewards and items |
| Fraud, chargeback abuse, account trading | Permanent ban, and removal of associated items |
| Content sexualising a minor, credible threats of violence | Immediate permanent ban and referral to the authorities where required |
A permanent ban ends your licence to play. It does not entitle you to a refund of anything already consumed — see the Purchases, Virtual Items & Refunds Policy.
Some detections and chat filters are automated. See section 5 of the Privacy Policy for what that means and the rights you have over it.
7. Appeals
Every enforcement decision can be appealed, including an automated one.
Write to support@calltorule.com with:
- your player ID,
- roughly when the action happened, and
- why you think it was wrong.
A person — not a script — reviews the appeal. We aim to respond within 10 business days. If we got it wrong, we reverse it and restore what was lost. If we uphold it, we tell you the category of behaviour that caused it. We cannot always explain the exact detection signal, because publishing it would tell cheaters how to evade it.
If you are in the EEA and remain dissatisfied, you keep your rights under the Digital Services Act, including the right to use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body and the right to go to court.
8. Changes
We update this Code as the game and its community change. Material changes come with at least 30 days' notice, as described in section 15 of the Terms of Service.
