What you may do with Call to Rule's art, name and footage — a standing licence for creators — and how to report infringement to us.

Last updated: 9 September 2026Version 1.0

1. What we own

Call to Rule, its heroes and their designs, artwork, animation, audio, music, maps, user interface, written lore, the Call to Rule name and logo, and the PaperToad name and logo are owned by Papertoad FZE LLC or its licensors, and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws in the United Arab Emirates and internationally.

Your licence to play the game, set out in section 4 of the Terms of Service, does not transfer ownership of any of it.

2. Fan content — what you may do

We want a creative community, so this section is a standing permission. You do not need to write to us for anything covered here.

You may create, publish and monetise:

  • Videos, streams, clips and highlights containing Call to Rule footage, including on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Kick and similar platforms, with platform monetisation, sponsorships and channel memberships enabled.
  • Guides, wikis, tier lists, statistics and written coverage.
  • Fan art, cosplay, animation and music based on the game.
  • Community sites, servers and tournaments for players.

You may use our screenshots, hero art and logo for the purpose of identifying the game in that content.

Conditions. In exchange:

  1. Make clear it is unofficial. Something like "Call to Rule is a trademark of PaperToad. This content is unofficial and not endorsed by PaperToad." is enough.
  2. Do not imply we made it, endorsed it, or partnered with you.
  3. Do not use our name or logo in your channel name, product name, or domain in a way that suggests it is official — "Call to Rule Central" is fine, "Official Call to Rule" is not.
  4. Follow the Community Code of Conduct. Do not put our art on hateful, sexual, or illegal content.
  5. Do not use it to promote cheats, boosting, account sales, key resellers, gambling, or third-party item marketplaces.
  6. Selling physical or digital goods bearing our art or trade marks — merchandise, print runs, asset packs, NFTs — is not covered. Ask first at ip@papertoad.com.
  7. Do not extract, redistribute or repackage the game's raw assets, source files or data files.

This permission is revocable. If we need to withdraw it from a specific person or piece of content we will tell them and say why, and we will act reasonably.

Nothing here limits your rights under fair dealing, fair use, quotation, news reporting, criticism, review or parody where the law gives them to you.

3. Esports, tournaments and events

Small community tournaments — no entry fee, or a modest prize pool, no ticketed audience — are covered by section 2 and need no separate permission. Please still tell us at ip@papertoad.com so we can watch and possibly help.

Anything larger, anything with a sponsor whose brand appears alongside ours, and anything described as "official" needs a written licence. Write to ip@papertoad.com.

4. Reporting infringement to us

If something in Call to Rule, on calltorule.com, or in our marketing infringes your rights, tell us and we will investigate promptly.

Send a notice to ip@papertoad.com containing:

  1. Who you are — name, postal address, email and telephone number.
  2. What is infringed — identify the work or trade mark precisely, and provide proof of your ownership or authority to act.
  3. Where it is — a URL, screenshot, in-game location, or exact description sufficient for us to find it.
  4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
  6. Your signature, electronic or physical.

We acknowledge within 5 business days, and aim to reach a decision within 15 business days. If we remove something, we tell the person who posted it and explain why, and they may respond. Incomplete notices delay everything, so please include all six items.

We suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe.

Sending a knowingly false notice to get content taken down may make you liable for the resulting damages.

5. Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you had the right to post it, write to ip@papertoad.com with your contact details, what was removed and where it was, and an explanation of why you have the right to use it. We will review it, and we will pass your counter-notice to the complainant. If they do not pursue the matter, we normally restore the content.

6. Our own use of third-party material

We license fonts, audio, middleware and libraries from others, and we respect their terms. Attribution and open-source licence notices for components used in Call to Rule are available in the game under Settings → About → Licences, and on request from legal@papertoad.com.

If you believe we have used your work without permission, use the process in section 4 — it applies to us as much as to anyone.
