Account & Data Deletion

How to delete your Call to Rule account and the data attached to it — in the game or by email — plus exactly what is erased, what is kept, and for how long.

Last updated: 9 September 2026Version 1.0

1. Two ways to delete your account

You do not need to install the game, sign in on this website, or ask permission. Either route below works, and both end in the same place: your account and its personal data are erased.

Option A — inside the game (fastest)

  1. Open Call to Rule and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Choose Delete account.
  4. Confirm. You will be asked to re-authenticate, because this cannot be undone.

Deletion starts immediately. You are signed out of every device.

Option B — by email (no app required)

Send an email to privacy@papertoad.com with the subject line "Delete my account", from the email address registered to the account, and include your player ID or display name if you know it.

You do not have to give a reason and we will not ask for one. If the request does not come from the registered address, we will ask you to prove control of the account before we act — this protects you from someone else deleting your account.

We acknowledge within 5 business days and complete within 30 days. There is no charge.

Ask for your data first if you want it. Once deletion completes we cannot recover anything, and no export is possible afterwards. Email privacy@papertoad.com with the subject "Send me my data" and we will send you a machine-readable copy of everything we hold. Do it before you delete.

2. What is deleted

Everything below is erased from our live systems:

  • Your account and identity — email address, username, password hash, date of birth, and any linked external sign-in identity.
  • Your profile — display name, avatar, level, experience, settings and preferences.
  • Your progression — ranks, ratings, mastery, honour, achievements, missions, mailbox.
  • Your inventory — heroes, skins, emblems, virtual currency balances and item entitlements.
  • Your social graph — friends, blocks, party history, guild membership.
  • Your chat messages, except any preserved as evidence in an open moderation case (see below).
  • Your devices — push notification tokens and registered device records.
  • Your gameplay telemetry, deleted by player identifier from our analytics store.
  • Your sessions — every active session and refresh token is revoked.

Deletion is permanent. You cannot recover the account, the progress, or anything you bought, and creating a new account does not restore any of it.

3. What is kept, and why

We cannot delete everything, and it would be dishonest to say we could. These are the exceptions, they are the minimum the law and safety allow, and each has a time limit.

What we keep Why For how long
Financial and transaction records — order references, amounts, tax dataUAE tax and commercial law obliges us to keep accounting records5 years from the end of the relevant tax period
Enforcement record — a one-way hash of identifying details, and the reason for a permanent banSo a permanently banned account cannot simply be recreated. It holds no readable personal data and cannot be used to contact youWhile the ban stands
Moderation evidence in an open case — specific messages already reportedSo an ongoing safety investigation, possibly about harm to another player, is not destroyed mid-wayUntil the case closes, then deleted
Anonymised and aggregated statistics — match outcomes, hero win ratesOnce a record can no longer be linked to you it is no longer personal data, and it is what balance work is built onIndefinitely, in anonymised form only
Records of your own deletion requestTo prove to a regulator that we honoured it24 months
Encrypted backupsBackups are restore points and cannot be edited selectivelyOverwritten on the normal cycle, within 90 days. If a backup is restored, the deletion is re-applied to it

Match records visible to other players are pseudonymised, not destroyed — your name is removed, but the fact that a match happened and its result remain, because they are also the other nine players' records and they are entitled to an accurate history.

4. Before you delete — things worth knowing

  • Purchases are not refunded by deleting. Virtual currency and items are licensed to you and end with the account. If you want a refund, read the Purchases, Virtual Items & Refunds Policy before deleting, because the transaction reference is easier to find while the account exists.
  • A deletion does not lift a ban. If the account is suspended, deleting it does not reset anything.
  • Your display name may not be immediately reusable, to stop impersonation.
  • Guild ownership transfers. If you are the sole owner of a guild it passes to the next-ranked member, or the guild is disbanded if there is none.

5. If you only want to delete some of your data

Deleting the whole account is not the only option. You can also ask us to:

  • Correct something inaccurate;
  • Delete a specific category — for example your chat history or your push tokens — while keeping the account;
  • Withdraw consent to marketing email, which stops it without touching anything else;
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests; or
  • Restrict processing while a dispute is resolved.

Write to privacy@papertoad.com and say which one you want. Section 11 of the Privacy Policy sets out the full list of rights.

6. Website newsletter — separate from your game account

If you gave us an email address on calltorule.com for launch news, that is stored separately from any game account and holds only your email address, language, source and the timestamp of your consent.

To delete it, email privacy@papertoad.com with the subject "Unsubscribe and delete", or use the unsubscribe link in any message we send you. It is removed entirely — not merely flagged as unsubscribed.

7. If we get it wrong

If you asked for deletion and we did not do it, or you think we kept more than we should have, tell us at privacy@papertoad.com and we will put it right.

You can also complain to a regulator: the UAE Data Office in the United Arab Emirates, your national data protection authority in the EEA, or the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom. You do not need our permission to do that, and using this route does not affect your account.
