1. We do not use cookies
calltorule.com sets no cookies. Not first-party, not third-party, not "essential" ones we quietly count as necessary.
We also run no analytics, no advertising or retargeting pixels, no tag manager, no social plugins, no session recording or heatmaps, and no fingerprinting. Nothing on this site follows you anywhere else.
That is why you are not seeing a cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to. If that changes — and we would only add something that genuinely improves the site — we will ask for your consent first, properly, with a real choice, before anything is set.
2. What we do store on your device
One item, in your browser's local storage:

Local storage is not a cookie: it is never transmitted to our server, and it is readable only by calltorule.com in your own browser. It contains a language code and nothing else — no identifier, no profile, nothing that says who you are.
To remove it, clear site data for calltorule.com in your browser settings, or use a private window.
3. What this site loads from somewhere else
Being straight about this matters, because a request to another company's server reveals your IP address to that company even if no cookie is involved.

There is nothing else. No CDN-hosted scripts, no embedded video, no chat widget, no map, no comment system, no third-party form handler.
The legal pages you are reading right now load nothing at all. They use the fonts already on your device and make zero third-party requests, so reading our privacy documentation does not itself send you anywhere.
4. The launch-news form
If you type your email address into the launch-news form on calltorule.com, that address is sent to our own server and stored there. It is not a cookie and it happens only when you submit the form.
What we store is your email address, language, the page you submitted from, and the time you gave consent — nothing more. No IP address is stored with it. To remove it, use the unsubscribe link in any message, or email privacy@papertoad.com. Details are in section 6 of Account & Data Deletion.
5. Inside the game
The Call to Rule game client is an application, not a web page, so cookies do not apply. It stores the following locally on your device:
- Session and refresh tokens, so you stay signed in between sessions. Delete them by signing out.
- Your settings — graphics, audio, controls, language, HUD layout.
- Cached game content — art, audio and data files, to avoid re-downloading them.
None of this is used to track you across other apps, and the game reads no advertising identifier of any kind.
6. Server logs
Like every web server, ours records the request it receives — IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, the response code and the user agent. This is standard operation, used to keep the site available and to investigate abuse, and it is not linked to a profile about you. Section 3.3 of the Privacy Policy covers it.
7. Your controls
- Block or clear local storage in your browser settings — the site works fine, it will simply ask about language again.
- Block third-party fonts with a content blocker — the site falls back to system fonts and remains fully usable.
- Send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control — there is nothing here for them to switch off, but we honour a GPC signal as an opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" under US state privacy laws. We do not sell or share personal information in the first place.
8. Changes
If we ever add anything that stores or reads data on your device beyond what is listed above, we will update this page before it goes live, and we will ask for consent where consent is required.
